Ok Ok I know your answer......NOT!!!!......sigh just trying to be farney.......heh heh heh anyways here's the real thing........
God has this real nagging habit of reminding me of all the blessings in my life time and again and 2 Saturdays ago, there He goes again. We were all on a hike to Monkey beach and lo behold along the hike the ever graceful me tried to navigate over a fallen tree trunk along the path (which >10 other people crossed without incident) and I ended up twisting my ankle bad and I mean torn ligament bad.....Ouch! Hey I though we were talking about 'Blessings'...hang on I'm gettin to it, hold ya horses will ya. Anyways back to my story, ahem......well here I was with one badly twisted ankle (I knew it was bad cos when it happened I heard a distinct 'CRICK' sound as if something popped.) and as usual you can ask Ashley or Bernard, I was really cursing (beneath my breath anyways) all the way to the beach (had to continue, no choice cos the boat is gonna be there). So to cut a long story short my leg had to be put in a cast and I ended up with 3 weeks worth of Medical Leave (I'm still in it by the way....not too late to send your sympathies and prayers :P)
So while in this position, I was left with very little I could do and a choice to see this as a blessing or a curse.......some of you are laughing and saying that's an easy choice....BLESSING LAA...3 weeks MC wo...and that is a blessing in itself.
1. To have a job where I can afford to take this MC and not fear for my job security, I believe that not everyone has this luxury in this current economic crisis.
2. Reflection, God has given this 3 weeks for me to think about things in my life and about my relationship with him.
3. Affirmation, that God is doing a great work in this group, the love and care that I felt from all of you tells me that we are doing something right in God's eyes.
4. Time, to do the things that He wants me to focus on, like the SS Group (I'm working on compiling a song book with as much of the songs in MP3 so you guys can listen and learn in your free time)
5. Family, to spend the time I wouldn't have with my mom and dad if I were working.
6. Learning, to catch up on my reading and always learning new things about my Father in heaven from heaven sent authors.
This much I see and it's only halfway through my second week. I'm sure there's going to be so much more in the days to come and I can hardly wait. So see through eyes of faith, look through heaven's goggles and not our earthly perception of things and you will see a Father that just loves to give and find that surprise gifts are His specialty.
